Wait.....what????

How much bacon should be added to Rice Krispie Treats?

Now, I like bacon as much as the next (non-vegetarian, non-pretending-to-be-grossed-out-by-real-food-in-the-interest-of-looking-like-she's-thinner-and-superior-to-those-slobs-who-actually-EAT) girl, but I tend to believe it has no place in Rice Krispie treats.

I dunno... Bacon has a place in just about everything...

Bacon would greatly improve them. Just leave out the Rice Krispies and marshmallows, those have no place in food.

Rice Krispies? Not my cup of tea anymore, but ok.

Bacon? Mmmm....bacon.

Together? That's just wrong.

I'm willing to experiment. I watched the new Dinner:Impossible the other night (they've got the new Iron Chef, the one who won Iron Chef Challenge doing the show now) and his dessert for the meal was chocolate covered bacon sprinkled with almonds. It looked delicious and everyone on the show loved it. I am, of course, going to have to try it.

Rice Krispies ... I add peanut butter to mine, so I get that a savory addition could work.

This would actually work, I think. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it would be good. Like adding a pinch of salt to your icing batter. Would balance it and give the flavor more dimension.

If people eat deep-fried Twinkies -- HELL! -- this is probably worth a shot.
